Welcome to Sheffield Lau Gar

Active ImageSheffield Academy of Martial Arts has over twenty five years of teaching Lau Gar Kung Fu and Kickboxing. Led by Sifu Graham Abdulla and his brother Adrian, SAMA has over thirteen clubs and thirty classes in Sheffield and Buxton every week.

Our instructors at the Academy are officially qualified. Being aware of the need to maintain the highest possible standards they are a hand picked team who have been entrusted to pass on and develop the teaching of Lau Gar Kung Fu in Sheffield.

The academy is aware of the need for health and fitness as well as self defence and since 1979 out instructors have been pioneers in teaching martial arts at colleges & schools across Sheffield and the Peak District.

We are an organisation specializing in fitness for children, through specifically designed programmes.

The programmes include confidence building, team work exercises, stretching, co-ordination, an exciting cardio-vascular workout as well as encouraging determination and focus.

We have 25 years experience teaching and working with children throughout Sheffield and the Peak District.

With our knowledge and expertise we are able to design a programme especially suited to your requirements. Our most popular programmes are martial arts based fitness programmes and a skip fit programme.

Our instructors have spent the last three years working with the Sheffield Colleges delivering a kickboxing fitness programme, teaching special needs students as well as a connexions course in kickboxing.

At present we teach martial arts to over 150 children in Sheffield and Buxton.
We offer tuition in the following disciplines;

  • Kung Fu
  • Kickboxing
  • Tai Chi
